We at Hope in the Heart CIC are delighted to have links with other organisations and individuals doing great things in many lands and cultures around the world. We are developing this part of the website, so please bear with us and we will add further details of our international friends in due course. Many thanks.
The world is growing smaller, and it is past time for us to recognise and acknowledge our common humanity instead of dwelling on our differences. We all have a mind, a body, a spirit, a complex range of emotions, the potential to do great good or great harm. We've all had mothers and fathers, we love our children beyond measure, and bleed when we are cut and long, consciously or not, for wholeness. We all suffer and we all survive. Many of us transcend our hardships to live richer, more meaningful lives in the service of the world. We are all miraculous, and we are all ordinary. We are all part of a human family and need to take care of ourselves and each other if our human race is to survive and thrive.
"Our human compassion binds us the one to the other - not in pity or patronisingly, but as human beings who have learned how to turn our common suffering into hope for the future." Nelson Mandela
"The problems we face today, violent conflicts, destruction of nature, poverty, hunger and so on, are human-created problems which can be resolved through human effort, understanding and the development of a sense of brotherhood and sisterhood. We need to cultivate a universal responsibility for one another and the planet we share." Dalai Lama
